Madisonville and Powell County HS FCCLA President/VP of Projects
Developed a project to start a Red Hat Society in local Nursing Homes. The project
included scheduling fundraisers to fund the events, getting permission from nursing
homes to be able to have activities, working with practitioners to develop activities that
were healthy and fun.
Highlights:
Held weekly meetings that incorporated music, exercise, trivia, and other fun
activities.
Scheduled several fundraisers to fund events such as Tea Parties, Spa Day, etc.
Fundraisers included bake sales, car washes, Annual Gala, Dinner Party and Silent
Auction, etc.
Entrusted to manage documents to present to nursing home staff. Documents
showed weekly progress on the benefits of the activities on the patients’ health.
Developed PowerPoint presentation and five minute speech to present at
competition.
Project won regional, state, and national titles for community service and
achievement.
