Directed development of Engineering Knowledge Manager tools and processes for the cell phone business unit

(BU) in reducing product defects and warranty costs. Created and implemented Project / Development Post

Mortem processes. Captured and disseminated lessons learned from across cell phone development projects.

• Managed a global team for the creation and implementation of a Development Dashboard and Knowledge

portal. The Dashboard allows the engineering community access to design best practice for defect

avoidance. This activity included development of Use Cases for User Acceptance testing.

• Established a learning organization through creation and deployment of a Business Unit wide Knowledge

Repository. The repository allows for creation, review and storage for design best practices for defect

avoidance and cost reduction. This activity included development of Use Cases for User Acceptance

testing.

• Led a Business Unit-wide Knowledge Management project to monetize engineering learning. The best

practices were used in Risk management / Failure Mode And Effects (FMEA) tools for risk avoidance /

defect reduction.

• Developed and deployed training materials for Relex FMEA tool

2004 – 2008

Black Belt / Quality Improvement

Oversaw training /development efforts for mobile devices business unit. Utilized Six Sigma methodology to

support and improve product development practices. Mentored and trained Green Belt candidates.

• Led the overhaul of change control process including change control tool selection; improved project cycle

times by half and doubled process capacity.

• Directed the selection of the Enterprise tool for Design Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA) resulted in

an Enterprise wide tool for product risk reduction and historical risk reuse.

• Designed and deployed a Business Unit-wide Design For Six Sigma framework, with focus on the product

realization process. Developed and documented requirements for a DFSS portal tool
