Dear Hiring Manager,

I am an audiologist recently relocated to San Diego from Seattle. I

would like to apply for your available sales position. My background is

largely clinical, having worked in a busy Otolaryngology clinic for the

past five years. I have strong skills in audiologic diagnostic testing,

hearing aid dispensing, counseling and patient relations. I am also

knowledgeable in peripheral office matters such as billing, personnel

matters (hiring and training) and other administrative duties. I thoroughly

enjoy the career path I have been on, and am eager to branch out into a

related field. I am confident that I can bring a proficient, pleasant and

compassionate style while assimilating into a novel work environment.

Although I have no formal experience in training or sales for a large

company, it appears comparable to my extensive experience working in a

medical practice with related testing equipment as well as hearing

instruments. Hearing aid dispensing involves not only basic customer

service and sales techniques, but more importantly communicating how both

the instruments and the patient's individual auditory system function. I

enjoy explaining how complex technology can assist in a person's everyday

life, in language that the layperson can understand. I am also adept in

working within the professional community and using nomenclature that

physicians and related personnel would be more comfortable with.

I would strongly value the chance to become an integral part of a

company where I can utilize my current abilities and add greater dimensions

to my skill set in helping people increase their quality of life. My

priority is to find the right fit professionally and personally, where I

can contribute to the well-being of individuals as well as to the community

at large. I was disappointed to leave my Seattle home and workplace, but am

also eager to explore San Diego and the new opportunities therein!

Thank you for your consideration,

Vanessa Rentschler
