Reporting to the CFO, my role was to define, manage the execution and
coordinate support for all IT operations at this $412MM revenue private
corrections company at 70 remote locations across the USA.
Responsibilities included all aspects of the Information Technology
Department which supported a 2700+ workstation, 3500+ user, multi-site
enterprise with a team of 40 multi-tiered professionals based across the
country. My approach was to combine hands-on leadership from a technical
infrastructure aspect with business acumen and experience to improve
processes and drive productivity in the organization. Specifics include:
Operations and Leadership - directing IT operations across the organization
. Managed all operational and strategic activities of the IT
infrastructure for the enterprise with 40 personnel and 150+ WinTel

infrastructure across the organization.
. Architected a distributed, redundant and scalable infrastructure to

Greenfield opportunities and the expansion of existing footprints.

annual IT operating and capital budgets.
. Cut operating expenses $1MM annually and reduced headcount by 30% after
reorganizing IT department personnel, deploying a hybrid Help Desk model
and adjusting customer SLA's.
. Consistently reduced costs of services annually by over $0.4MM through a
mix of vendor renegotiations and by optimizing internal resources.
Business and Strategy - using IT to drive business productivity
. Developed strategies to align IT and all IT projects with the needs of
all three company operating divisions.
. Bridged the gap between IT and business by building strong relationships
with business-unit owners and other stakeholders.
. Drove productivity through the implementation of advanced technical
solutions and by motivating IT personnel.

vendors.

a key role in long-range planning across business units.
. Responsible for IT integration strategy and directing all due-diligence
functions during the $685MM Cornell/GEO M&A process.
. Communicated technical information and ideas effectively to non-
technical business personnel and stakeholders.
Technology Implementation - efficiencies, risk reduction and cost savings
. Architected and implemented a complete infrastructure 'hot site'
disaster recovery and business continuity environment, including the
build-out of a secondary datacenter and all associated hardware and
software systems.

services by utilizing Citrix 'thin' client/server technologies.

standardization of technologies (eg. VMware).
