EXPERIENCE

* Software Developer at Patents Online LLC. (2008 - 2010)

(1). Developed and maintained Java backend projects DTF - Distributed Task

Framework and Harvester that interact with large scale databases (multi-

million-entry tables). Processes include collecting documents of various

types (e.g. US, WIPO, German, JP Patents, OAI/PMH, NIH docs); distributing

them across multiple servers; extracting and splitting raw XML documents,

parsing them into master XML files and indexing them using Apache Lucene

API.

(2). Developed and maintained front end web app - BioMedSearch.com (PR 6

within 6 months) using PHP5 and Symphony framework that interacts with

backend Lucene index for search functionality, using PHP-Java bridge.

(3). Assisted code migration for all company web apps to share single back

end DB schemas and integrated DTF code base. This enables extremely fast

development for micro sites that share the same functionalities (e.g.

saved searches, alerts, portfolios, etc.)

(4). Assisted SEO on web apps to increase Page Rank and overall site

traffic for Google.

* Intern at Shodor Inc. (2007) Designed and developed fully OO, DB driven 3-

tier web app DEAFSTEM funded by NSF in PHP5 and MySql. The Project was

developed in LAMP environment using MVC design pattern.

(2007) Assisted on developing large-scale defense technology to drive next-

gen threat detection system in Java for Cyber Defense Lab of NCSU.
