Controller/CFO

Administered financial operations during high growth period for company;

included contribution to profit and loss performance of entire US finance

division. Oversaw and ensured performance of up to 8 direct reports

responsible for accounts payable, billing and collections, general ledger,

cost accounting and analysis.

Scope of responsibilities included capital/operating budgets, financial

reporting (4 plants), tax reporting. NAFTA/ALLA reporting, accruals, risk

auditing of inventory stock counts, accuracy of inventory valuations

. Coordinated financial package (provided to headquarters) using both US

GAAP and IFRS accounting standards; included profit and loss

statements, balance sheet, statement of cash flow, detailed expense

analysis of sales, direct costs (cost of sales), overhead/indirect

costs, SG&A costs, R&D/development costs; developed executive analysis

addressing large variances and detailed forecast (including 13-week

cash forecast). Nominated to Board of Directors as Secretary for 2

legal entities.

. Facilitated significant growth in revenue (from $120 million to $225

million over 8 years) via delivery of accurate and timely data to sales

group. Led in development of template utilized for quoting new work

(enabling net income increase after tax from 1% to 3.5%).

. Recognized for guiding significant cost savings via vast array of

suggestions. Savings and methods:

o $200,000 (over 2-3 year period): Implemented purchasing cards

throughout all areas; portion of savings realized via rebates

negotiated with card provider. $500,000: Developed self-insured

Efficient and effective foreign currency hedging. $100,000+

(annually): Facilitated several efficiencies, avoided hiring and

replacement of personnel.

o Spearheaded negotiations facilitating savings (cost avoidance) on

several major contracts including NAFTA/ALLA consultants, insurance

providers, telephone providers, and building/equipment leases.

. Conducted internal audit process and review resulting in discovery of

personal property tax errors from external outside tax preparers;

secured $100,000 refund from City of Auburn Hills subsequent to action

in tax tribunal court.

. Reduced 90+ day receivable total balance from 20% to 5% of total

receivables outstanding; included balance outstanding approximating $25

million (45 day term). Avoided losses despite 2 major customer

bankruptcies.

. Contributed to purchase of local supplier (metal stamping) as well as

assisted with due diligence as majority ownership in company sold to

investment company.

. Reduced month-end closing cycle from 25 to 3 days; elevated finance

department to fundamental part of organization; enabled through

movement of deadlines, cross training staff and empowering associates.
