Awards and Achievements
While working as a Program Manager with the Graduate School, I coordinated
the development and implementation of the Federal Job Readiness Institute
program. This program was intended as a four-class session designed to
enable job seekers to navigate the USAJobs website to locate, identify, and
apply for Federal positions. The program was cost effective and met a broad
customer base. I utilized my immense skill set and drew of past
experiences, to manage this project. Some skills utilized included:
planning, program development, marketing, effective communication both
written and oral, partnership building, policy development, leadership,
coaching, presentation skills, and overall program management skills. Since
this program was a brand new program, special policies were setup. These
policies included registration policies and procedures, training policies,
and operating procedures on instruction fee collection, credit hours,
salary for instructors. The overall program was a huge success and received
the most "Innovated Best Ideas" Awards for 2009. This program trained over
500 students in the first eight-week session, additionally, the program was
expanded for an additional eight months and more than 2400 participants
were trained. This program has been touted on local Public TV and Radio as
a tool for helping the local community.
