EMPLOYMENT HISTORY:
1994-5/09 I began working at the MA Correctional Institute at Framingham,
as a Correctional Counselor, later changed to Correctional Program
Officer "CPO".
In the medium level security units, I monitored the overall needs
and issues of the individual inmate, be aware of any climate issues among
all inmates as well as the overall climate of the institution.
As a CPO, I performed six month reviews on the inmates and
made recommendations regarding security level, including minimum
security and pre-release, to the unit team and acted as a voting member of
the classification board.
In the maximum security level unit I had the additional
responsibility to perform monthly reviews to assess readiness to return to
medium security, and assess and address any problems present to prevent
violence or potentially suicidal situations.
In the substance abuse unit I performed intake interviews.
addressing the issues of detoxing the newly sober, and mental health issues
and made recommendations for institutional programs.
In the Warrant Clearing Unit, I was responsible for running
CJIS/LEAPS information nation-wide, as well as Canada and Puerto Rico,
on new admissions including newly sentenced inmates, inmates scheduled
to be released, parole and probation violators, and inmates being
considered for lower security. I was responsible for filing interstate
agreements, coordinating video conferences and requests for Habeas
Corpus, screening criminal histories for sex offenses, and identifying
inmates with immigration issues and referring them to ICE (Immigration and
Customs Enforcement).
1994-1995 South Middlesex Correctional Center: Correctional Program
Officer. My duties and responsibilities included: providing male inmate
case work; making appropriate referrals; ensuring security and the orderly
running of the institution by making community spot checks; room
searches; returns to higher custody, head counts; breathalyzers,
and urinalysis tracking. Special State Police Commission to carry a firearm while
transporting inmates.
1991-1993 Brandon Diagnostic and Treatment Center, Framingham MA.
Title: Milieu Counselor. My duties and responsibilities included working
with emotionally disturbed adolescents in the custody of the Department
of Social Services in an attempt to return them to the mainstream.
