The HR department consisted of four employees. Wore many hats within the
department that ranged from the file clerk to benefits coordinator to
recruiter. Maintained employee records, conduct new hire orientation,
verify employment eligibility through E-verify, mail distribution for HR
department, handled TRP (Trip Reduction Program) monitoring and annual TRP
survey, compile data for benefit reports, answer phones, input data in HR
system, and maintain termination logs. As the benefits person: compile
and send correspondence to employees former and present regarding any
changes to benefit plans, enrolled new employees in benefits of their
choice and provided all benefit information. Reconciled billing invoice
from insurance companies, handled open enrollment by sending out
notification of which benefits can be renewed or added, i.e.,
medical/dental/vision, flex spending accounts; once employee made the
changes, informed the benefit carriers by either entering the changes into
their intake system or emailed the employee's information; handled any
problems the employee was encountering with billing or interpreting their
bills. Provided and assisted employees with leave requests for medical,
FMLA, or vacation. Updated all employee files with new/termed benefits.
Notified all benefit carriers of any terminations of employees. Handled
travel arrangements for upper management interviewees, scheduled interviews
for upper managerial candidates. Worked with job websites for position
availability by contacting the rep at Careerbuilder or Monster,
participated in interviews on an as needed basis.
