Thomson Reuters: 3 Times Square, NYC, NY 10036-Vice President, Global Head

of Corporate Security: 2000 to Present

. Designed and implemented security and access control systems for the

International Headquarters during the design and construction phase in

2000.

. Direct and Manage security operations for 560 offices worldwide, totaling

over 18.3 million square feet and encompassing over fifty-five thousand

employees excluding contractors.

. Designed and implemented a global security and access control system for

these offices during integration throughout the Americas, United Kingdom,

Asia and Australia. Interfaced with facility and building management to

ensure local compliance.

. Developed and manage annual budgets not exceeding cost projections.

. Interfaced and coordinated the efforts of the Global Disaster Recovery

and Business Continuity teams. Directed this department three separate

times during transition periods.

. Developed a Global Network ensuring all Reuters journalists and film and

television crews were properly protected during major media events.

Covered the Democratic and Republican conventions, White House

Correspondence Dinner, G-8 Summits, Academy Awards and major sporting

events using proprietary and contract agencies.

. Designed and revamped security systems for all Thomson Reuters data

centers using bio-metric technology and ensuring Sarbanes-Oxley

compliance.

. Enhanced security for journalists and senior executives by using

vehicular and telephone tracking capabilities.

. Ensure that Business Continuity procedures and policies are maintained at

all locations and ensured that business recovery plans are in place and

consistent across all regions.

and provide crisis management exercises to the incident management team

Security Managers and one Director of Health and Safety.

. Ensure that the security managers properly supervise over one hundred and

. Coordinate security efforts with various Global Law Enforcement Agencies

to ensure a safe and secure work environment throughout Thomson Reuters.

. Interface with Global Sourcing for selecting outside vendors such as:

contract guards, security consultants, training consultants, travel

programs and security products.

. Revamped the physical security of all Americas data centers to ensure

Sarbanes-Oxley and ISO27001 and ISO9001 compliance.

. Interface with Corporate Compliance and Legal ensuring all investigative

polices are followed and proper reports are provided to senior

management.

. Executive Protection responsibilities include coordinating travel

arrangements for the company's top 35 executives.

. Interface with our Travel Agencies ensuring corporate travel polices are

maintained and established a traveler notification procedure to track

travelers during a global incident.

Service Employees International Local 32B-32J, 1992-2000

Was hired as the Director of Security when building was in the design

phase, with no systems in place. Accomplished the following:

. Designed and implemented security and access control systems.

. Established policies and procedures for members and employees including

crisis incident situations and safety areas.

. Developed and managed staff of 35 officers, 3 managers and 3

investigators.

. Developed and managed annual budget of $2.4 million.

. Wrote fire safety plan, investigative manual and security policy for

organization.

. Developed and wrote the Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery Plan

for the union.

. Directed the Disaster Recovery Program to design and implement technology

solutions and managed the deployment of all critical systems,

applications and data at remote data centers.

. Implemented recovery metrics to report program progress and provide an

early warning of issues that could diminish recovery capability.

. Established executive protection detail, ensuring safety of all

executives and political visitors.

. Worked with various law enforcement agencies on all investigations.

operations of the Investigation and Loss Prevention divisions.

. Since 1993, I have served as Adjunct Lecturer at John Jay College,

teaching courses which include access control, loss prevention, crime

prevention, risk analysis, bank security, business continuity/disaster

recovery, security lighting, fire safety, civil and criminal

investigations, design of security systems and anti-terrorism tactics. I

currently teach a graduate security management course.
