software. Led installation teams on beta-site ship and 5 other ship implementations.

• Managed Stage 2 of “ShipNet” system implementation across fleet, involving enhancements to ship’s

property management system, development of new data file transfer (ship-to-shore) scripts, and

development of simple Lotus Notes applications. Led installation team on the “beta-site” ship

implementation.

• Directed broad project teams in accomplishing all technical tasks related to launches of new retail partners across

the country (software, database, configuration, testing, hardware, staging, etc.).

• Led project teams for various infrastructure initiatives, such as Disaster Recovery (DR), office relocation (Ft.

Lauderdale to Delray Beach) and database upgrades.

• Analyzed functional requirements needed by the customers and wrote functional specifications for customer sign

offs.

• Led development efforts of staff and consultants for Lotus Notes and XcelleNet software.

I.T. Staff Manager (7 years)

• Responsible for systems including Point-of-Sale (POS), electronic cabin door locks and guest cruise

cards. Duties included developing project workplans, resource planning, hiring of staff, staff meetings,

year-end reviews and yearly budgeting process.

Staffed up and managed a group of seven QA professionals, who tested and certified critical software

releases prior to implementation at customer sites.

Managed project for major upgrade of POS systems across fleet of 11 ships, including hardware and

software upgrades (IBM POS with 4683 terminals and 4690 operating system).

Supervised project to upgrade electronic cabin door lock system (VingCard) across the fleet for Year

2000 compliance.

Led POS system selection and implementation for world’s largest cruise ship “Voyager of the Seas”,

with over 125 POS terminals. Led team in configuration & testing of system by staff and vendors,

working closely with the business units and shipboard staff to build the system.

Directed project team (approx. 12 people) in planning, development and implementation of upgrades

to property management system and cabin door lock system on fleet. Systems were interfaced for

seamless customer satisfaction.

Systems Analyst (5 years)

• Team member for selection of new shipboard maintenance and purchasing system (SpecTec AMOS),

involved in system analysis to compare to existing legacy system.

• Analyzed potential vendors to select food operations management system (CrunchTime, CBORD),

designed to save company approximately $1M per year. Selected vendor after site visits to

headquarters of finalists, as well as interviews with their customers.

• Supported data transmissions for inventory data files, to & from a fleet of cruise ships.

• Supported PC-based FoxPro inventory systems onboard ships, developed and enhanced by developer

and contractors. Responsible for support, enhancement planning, functional specifications, contractor

development, test phases, and implementations onboard ships.

• Implemented and supported system for production of passenger onboard charge cards in shoreside data

center.
