Senior Project Engineer, 2002-2010

Responsible for evaluation and implementation of oil/water separator corrective design plan for 17

facilities in Western and Eastern Washington, including: coordinating the cleaning subcontractor,

structural integrity assessment, hydraulic analysis, preparing corrective action report, cost estimate,

corrective actions design, and construction oversight.

Responsible for the stormwater pollution prevention assessment effort at construction sites for new

and remodeled distribution centers in Washington, Oregon, and Alaska. The assessment involved

three elements: pre-visit document review, on-site activities, and reporting.

Designed, developed, and implemented the Large Parcel Erosion and Sediment control Plan and

Best Management Practices for a landfill development site.

Responsible for air monitoring testing for the presence of lead and arsenic in soil during excavation,

grading, and demolition of old power towers covered with lead-based paint. Managed and directed

the hydraulic oil spill cleanup actions.

Prepared environmental compliance documents and reports including: Notice of Intent to apply for an

Industrial Stormwater General Permit (ISWGP), Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plans (SWPPP),

Spill Prevention, Control, and Countermeasures (SPCC) Plans, Discharge Monitoring Reports (DMR)

for submission to Ecology, and Plan of Operations for the solid waste material recovery facilities.

Project Engineer, 1990-2002

Performed site development planning, permitting, and design of a new 160acre landfill.

Responsibilities included: cell sequence and configuration, subgrade plan, underdrain system layout

and details, composite liner plan and details, leachate collection recovery system plan and details,

access and perimeter road, engineering calculations for all stormwater management structures,

leachate management force main and pump station, and a new landfill entrance. Provided

construction observation, on-site design, as-built documentation and construction certification, and

managed construction change orders.

Performed CQA work during landfill cell construction. Responsibilities included: submittals review

and approval, construction monitoring to determine conformance with design of soils, and

geomembrane and geotextile conformance testing.

Performed landfill final closure design. Responsibilities included: final grading, final cover system,

stormwater underdrain, perimeter collection and conveyance systems, specifications and CQA

manual, bid item quantities, and engineering cost estimate.

Performed civil engineering design for a new transfer station. Responsibilities included: grading and

pavement plans, stormwater collection and conveyance, and sanitary sewer systems and roads.

Served as a project representative during construction of sewage treatment ponds.
