Project
MaRS (Management Reporting System) is focused on sales by function (e.g.,
Retail Reporting, Finance Analysis, Sales Ops Analysis). MaRS pull reports
to show production numbers for sales (Gross Adds, Initial Adds, Store
Profile, Commissionable Revenue & more). MaRS is using tools to assess
metrics of Revenue, Margin, Expenses, Supporting Accounts, ROA, and more at
the store group reporting level (Return on Operations).
MaRS receives and processes data from multiple sources within the
organization. Daily detail subscriber feeds are loaded, processed,
transformed and aggregated by dimension within the Oracle database
environment. The summarized data is then loaded to Essbase cube. Mobile
level details therefore do not exist in the Essbase environment. Essbase is
used to facilitate a high level multi-dimensional presentation data layer
to the enterprise for analysis purposes.
Responsibilities
Responsible for establishing and supporting quality standards in the
development of system solutions.
Participated in the development and review of life cycle phase
deliverables, selection, architecture, installation and training of tools
and planning, creation and execution of testing activities.
Interacted with project teams that included developers, analysts, project
managers and client representatives. Responsible for coordinating the team
and resolved the issues that arise within the team and also represented the
team.
Used Mercury Test Director for bug tracking and reporting, also followed up
with development team to verify bug fixes, and update bug status.
Identified the critical test cases early in the project and facilitated the
transition of software from the development environment to the test
environment.
Extract processes and receive data from different source systems. Validate
the data, load the data to staging environments using UNIX and SQL Loader,
transform the data and load to the data mart environments. This data is
identified and tracked from staging tables to Fact and Dimension tables
before loading into Essbase Cubes.
Once the initial validation was done and the data mart was loaded, the data
was being tested for appropriate business rules. Created test conditions
against each of the business rules and Scenarios.
Executed Test Scripts for newly developed functionality and Maintain
Regression Test Scripts
Responsible for manual testing of data integration/migration from various
source systems into the Data Warehouse environment.
Ran SQL queries against the Data Sources and Targets for Validation.
Verified and tested the final output in the form of Reports.
Environment: Windows NT 4.0 / 2000/98/95, UNIX, Oracle, Teradata, Test
Director, Toad, Hyperion Essbase, Excel-Add-in.

tables for the parameters and wrote functions for the parameters to read
new data from the table upon each iteration - Performed Data-driven
testing.
Performed System Testing and validated the data both in the data source
(SQL Server) and the target (Essbase).
Ran SQL queries against the Data Sources and Targets for Validation.

Project
This was an OLAP system called the TouchFree dashboard used for budgetary
analysis of all financial Departments using drilldown, charts, attached
narratives, predictive alerting, etc. It will be the main tool used by the
senior management team to explain the operating results, audit issues,
process breaks, headcount metrics, etc of their respective organizations.
Data mart built to analyze the Budgetary Analysis Structure. The data mart
is built on the Star Schema model maintaining the conformity of all the
dimensions. There are two fact tables in the model. The first one is a fact
less fact table that contains the relationship among the various dimensions
related to the account structure. The second fact table contains the daily
snapshot of the claim activities as of the end of the day.
The source system for this application - Budget Management (the OLTP system
for Account Structure Management) The data is pulled from these two systems
on a daily basis and staged in a persistent staging area. Once the data is
staged, the dimensions and the facts are loaded.
Responsibilities
Developed test cases and test scripts were stored in a Central Repository
and Version Control applied using Clear Case.
Developed Test Scripts for manual as well as for automated testing using
Win Runner.
Defined and performed the Test strategies and associated scripts for the
verification and validation of the application and helped ensuring that it
meets all defined business requirements and associated functionality.
Wrote Test Plan and Test cases for Acceptance, Functional and Integration
Testing using TestDirector.
Optimized QTP scripts for Regression testing of the application with
various data sources and data types.
Parameterized the fixed values in checkpoint statements, created data
tables for the parameters and wrote functions for the parameters to read
new data from the table upon each iteration - Performed Data-driven
testing.
Coordinated and Controlled Testing Projects at every step of the Quality
Cycle from Test Planning through Execution to Defect Management.
Monitored all phases of the Testing process, Test Schedules and their
Execution, and Communicated Project Information.
Performed extensive Database testing by testing the Front End, inserting
Database Checkpoints to query data, performing Load Test on the database
server.
Tested reports for doing the business rules validations and compare them
against the source data. These reports were scheduled and were being run
after every load.
Created and tested scenarios using positive and negative test data.
