Operations and Maintenance Skills:
* From September, 2004, to September 2010 I was a Control Room Operator at both Metcalf Energy
Center and Otay Mesa Energy Center. Metcalf is a 600 MW Combined Cycle facility with two Siemens
501 FD2 Gas Turbine Engines and one Siemens KN Steam Turbine Generator Set. Otay Mesa Energy
Center is 603 MW Combined Cycle facilities with two GE 7FA Gas Turbine Engines, one Siemens KN
Steam Turbine and an Air Cooled Condenser.
* I commissioned both Metcalf Energy Center and Otay Mesa Energy Center. I was part of the startup of
both facilities. I was responsible for all Plant Startup/Shutdown Procedures and for all normal and off
normal operating procedures for the Siemens KN Steam Turbine. Maintaining the Plant Maintenance
Program (Maximo) was also my responsibility at both facilities.
* While serving in the United States Navy, I was rated as a Gas Turbine System Technician (Mechanical).
I served aboard the USS Shiloh from July 1999 to May 2002. I then served at Assault Craft Unit 5 as an
Engineer from May 2002 until August 2004. I worked with GE LM2500, Allison K-17 Generator Set, and
Lycoming TF40B Gas turbine Engines.
Administrative Skills:
* Administer and maintain the plant Safety programs, to include Lockout/Tag-out, Confined Space and
Hot work.
* Operator in Charge during Outages at Otay Mesa and Metcalf Energy Center. As the OIC, I was directly
responsible for the plant wide safety of all personnel and contractors working on site. I maintained direct
communication with Contractor representatives to ensure completion of all work prior to or by required
deadline.
* Maintained both Otay Mesa and Metcalf Energy Center NERC Gads reporting program.
* Maintained shift schedule for 14 employees while at Metcalf Energy Center.
Training Skills:
* While at Metcalf, I was the Control Room operator responsible for training new personnel. At Metcalf, I
trained 5 Control Room Operators and at Otay Mesa, I trained 2 Control Room Operators. All were
qualified within 3 months of the start of their training.
