manuals related to mainframe operating systems:

Topics included conversion, performance, and operating systems in a

virtual machine. These manuals saved users many hours effort and

provided hints on converting their systems to new technology and using

them more effectively.

. Took initiative to identify and meet a business need by developing

from user experiences and development center input a new manual, VS1

to MVS Conversion Notebook. Manual was produced within six months and

saved much time and effort for field personnel and customers..

. Led writing department in applying usability research to technical

manuals, developing elements of usable writing, educating writers

about these elements, and applying human factors testing to technical

manuals.

. Wrote and published an IBM internal technical bulletin on usability

for technical manuals. .

. Mentored other writers through the entire technical writing process to
