After inventing the VizKID as a hobby three years ago (i.e. child-safety device for motor
vehicles), I have spent the last six months moving the product into production and
subsequently transferred all future business growth of the product to a consumer products
company in Carlsbad.
03/07-04/10 National Payment Network, Inc. – CFO
This private company focused on financial payment services and software has more than
doubled annual sales since 2007. I coordinated the closure of Series A and B rounds of
venture financing in July’07 and July’09, respectively. Upon joining the company in
early 2007, I developed and implemented the company’s core regulatory strategy which
distinguished NPN from its industry rivals and became the company’s core competitive
advantage.
2006-2007 Orbital Data (acquired by Citrix Systems, 08/06) – VP, Finance & Operations
Responsible for finance, administration, and customer support. Completed two-year
audit (Ernst & Young) and coordinated all due diligence in preparation for the company’s
acquisition by Citrix Systems, Inc.. I then fulfilled a transitionary role with Citrix
Systems until March, 2007.
2005-2006 Consulting CFO – Mobile Content Networks, Inc., and ServerEngines, LLC
Mobile Content Networks developed a mobile shopping search engine that successfully
gained a share of the Japan consumer market, with revenues tied to search clicks.
ServerEngines developed a comprehensive CPU-on-a-blade chipset, later to be
successfully designed in at IBM and Cisco.
2000-2005 Maranti Networks, Inc. – CFO
Responsible for the business planning, finance, human resources, legal, IT, and facilities
functions for this developer of storage network controller software and hardware.
Coordinated and closed Series B and C financing rounds, for $25M and $26M,
respectively. The company was acquired by EMC in December, 2005.
1999-2000 3ware, Inc. – Corporate Controller
Accomplishments included the introduction of the lead venture capital firm for the
company’s second round of financing, as well as the implementation of Great Plains
Enterprise as the company’s financial, procurement, and bill-of-materials system.
1998–1999 iREADY Corporation – CFO / Corporate Controller
Responsible for the finance, human resource, IT and facilities functions for this
intellectual property start-up focused on hardware-imbedded internet connectivity.
Negotiated multi-million dollar IP licensing agreements with Toshiba and Sharp.
1995-1997 Xicor, Inc. - Director of Worldwide Operations Finance
Responsible for budgeting, forecasting, and strategic planning. Integrally involved with
10Q and 10K reports.
1991-1995 VeriFone, Inc. - International Controller
Coordinated strategic planning, forecasting, and budgeting for the International Sales
Division, which grew in annual revenues from $60mm to $200mm over this four-year
period. Supervised ten Subsidiary Controllers across three international regions.
Integrally involved with 10Q and 10K reporting. Implemented Oracle Financials in five
regional HQ offices.
1990-1991 Mattson Technology, Inc. - Corporate Controller
Managed all financial and administrative duties for this semiconductor equipment startup,
specializing in dry plasma strip and etch technologies. Coordinated closure of Series C
financings, in tandem with a significant Japan Distribution Agreement.
Implemented Macola Financial and Manufacturing enterprise software.
1987-1990 Aspen Semiconductor Corp. - Corporate Controller
Managed finance, administration, and strategic planning for this fabless semiconductor
startup focused on BiCMOS SRAM’s and Bipolar ECL devices. Company purchased by
Cypress Semiconductor.
1978-1987 Advanced Micro Devices, Sunnyvale, CA.
Plant Controller, Austin, Texas - Managed general ledger, payroll, A/P, fixed assets,
and all financial analysis for Austin wafer fab areas.
Director of Worldwide Cost Accounting – Developed AMD’s new worldwide
cost system for tracking production costs and inventories for 5 divisions and 12 product
lines. The Genesis Cost System supported the company from $600M to over $2B in
annual revenues.
