Responsibilities included taking a project from
initial conception to final construction
documents - projects were both design/build and
plans/specifications. This includes initial
client contact to review project requirements,
conceptual design, budgets, design of power and
emergency power systems, lighting and control
systems, fire alarm systems and incorporation of
LEED requirements, applicable code reviews,
interphasing with design team, scheduling,
specification development, refining final cost
budgets and final review with client. Also,
completed construction administration as
required. Projects included educational,
commercial, military, alternative energy sources,
hospital, energy audits/recommendations,
industrial and apartment buildings.

The company's sales increased from $.5M
to $6M. Several projects included the
renovation of a local university's
Athletic Facility, a 1.2 Megawatt
co-generation plant at a landfill,
pharmaceutical company's data center and
two water pump stations.

Initially hired as an electrical design
engineer responsible for electrical
project design from initial conception to
the final construction documents. The
design process included code review,
collaborating with other disciplines
involved on the project, construction
cost estimates and developing plans and
specifications. The designs included
power distribution (both site and
building), lighting (interior and
exterior), emergency power, fire alarm
and other systems. Types of designs
included multi-building residential
projects, commercial/retail buildings,
industrial buildings, data centers and
governmental projects, a subway train
refurbishment plant in Yonkers, NY and
various renovation projects for the
United States Post Office. In 1984,
promoted to Department Head for the
Mechanical/Electrical/Sprinkler/Plumbing
Department. Responsibilities included
developing professional fees for design
work, construction cost estimates,
scheduling project design time lines,
coordinating and reviewing various
discipline designs, construction
administration procedures, developing and
presenting the department budget,
presentations to prospective clients,
hiring of personnel and involvement in
marketing of the company.
