American Infrastructure

Quality Control Manager Quarries (July 2008 – Present)

Provide technical and administrative direction to all Quality Control personnel, which includes personnel

administration, resolution of technical problems, development of in house training and handling

customer complaints.

Act as a liaison between regulatory agencies (such as Maryland, Pennsylvania, New Jersey and

Delaware State DOTs), trade associations and/or internal departments on product quality issues.

Provide technical guidance to quarry operations for developing new and special products and work

closely with sales personnel to provide customer support.

Work with senior management in developing and closely monitoring department budgets.

Working towards obtaining Asphalt Material Research Laboratory (AMRL) accreditation for aggregate

and soil testing.

Research & Development Supervisor (April 2007 – July 2008)

Evaluated the potential of serpentine stone for being used in acid mine drainage control.

Developed a process of quarry mapping to understand the geology to eliminate specific gravity

fluctuations.

Provided technical support for the production of in house polymer modified asphalt, which enabled the

company to produce its own PG 76 22 and rubber modified asphalt.

Provided technical support in designing high percentage RAP & RAS mixes.

Provided technical support for the company’s first Warm Mix Asphalt (WMA) project.

Quality Control Engineer (February 2005 – April 2007)

Proficient in Superpave and Marshall Mix Designing.

Developed in house MS Excel and MS Access based programs and databases such as a pay factor

program, a mix design database and a laboratory equipment inventory.

Experienced in Pennsylvania Skid Resistance Level (SRL) re evaluation process; enabled one of our

quarries to achieve an upgrade to an excellent SRL resulting in profit of more than $100,000.

Developed a Quality Control Asphalt Binder Plan for one of our asphalt plants which was one amongst

the very few QC plans developed in the entire northeastern region at the time.

Developed a quality system plan and trained HMA technicians to achieve an AMRL accreditation for

two of our asphalt plant laboratories, which are among the very few accredited HMA producing

laboratories in the states of Maryland and Delaware.

Pennsylvania Transportation Institute

Research Assistant (September 2002 – December 2004)

Proficient in performing Superpave Asphalt Binder tests including Dynamic Shear Rheometer (DSR),

Bending Beam Rheometer (BBR) and Rotational Viscometer (RV).

Performed simulated long term and short term aging on asphalt binder by Pressure Aging Vessel (PAV)

and Rolling Thin Film Oven (RTFO) tests.

Developed Master Curves using time temperature superposition to understand behavior and

performance of pavement.

Performed Repeated Shear at Constant Height (RSCH) test and Frequency Sweep (FS) test on asphalt

mixture on the Superpave Shear Tester (SST).
