M anager: Sonia De La Torre Employer: Yosemite Manor/Madera Housing Authority
( Madera Workforce) Office: 559-***-**** (ext. 200)
Duties: Yosemite Manor is a senior citizen housing for low income and qualified
seniors. When applications were hand in I had to input the information on a
website, this was for equal housing opportunity. Then I would send out letters to
advise the applicants of an appointment they were going to have with the manager.
Before the appointments I would make copies of a small package of forms ready for
t he manager to review with them on the day of the appointment and see if they
qualified. If they received any benefits, such as public assistance, cash aid services,
SSI, cash awards, lottery, insurances benefits or have a bank account ect. I would
have to send out verifications to each location. This would be by mail or fax. When I
received back the verification responses I would file them in proper order in each
applicant’s folder. From there I would schedule a next appointment. I also did
(Excel) inputting on the tenants complaints on anything working improperly in
t here apartments. I also participated in the distribution of the “Brown Bag” event
and others.
