. In 2007, led effort to change linen vendors resulting in annual savings

Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital at Hamilton, Hamilton, NJ (2002 -

2005)

Assistant Vice President, Facilities Management and Safety Officer

Responsible for construction management, space planning and design,

environmental services, linen management, engineering, clinical

engineering, materials management, safety and security for 214-bed

hospital. Coordinated activities of 105 union and non-union employees,

including 4 directors, 9 supervisors and 2 secretaries. Also directed

external support staff such as architects, engineers, designers,

contractors and laborers.

* Developed hospital intranet site for communication of construction

updates and hospital flow changes to employees.

* Helped lead effort that resulted in RWJ-Hamilton winning the Malcolm

Baldrige National Quality Award in November 2004. Award was presented

by Vice President Dick Cheney in Washington, DC July 20, 2005.

Professional Services Facilities Management (1998 - 2002)

District Manager

District comprised of 14 business units encompassing acute care, long-term

care and commercial clients. Services directed included housekeeping,

laundry, linen distribution, plant operations, plant maintenance,

biomedical engineering, asset management, patient transportation and

material handling. Was responsible for 23 managers, 25 supervisors and 620

union and non-union employees.

* Actively supported Administrations in the planning, coordination,

funding and execution of projects, including construction, relocation

and asset procurement

* Passed 14 JCAHO, HCFA and DOH surveys with no significant

recommendations

ServiceMaster Management Services Company (1984 - 1997)

Was responsible for plant operations, maintenance, construction, clinical

engineering, food service, environmental services and linen management for

230-bed acute care hospital. Directed activities of 120 employees,

including 6 managers, 9 supervisors and 2 secretaries.

* Wrote entire Environment of Care manual prior to 1995 JCAHO survey.

All departments passed JCAHO with not a single recommendation.

* Saved the hospital $500,000 in capital costs by redesigning mechanical

system overhaul and roof replacement plans in 1995.

* Created new Clinical Engineering Department and developed business

plan. CE had been contained within Plant Operations and Maintenance

Department.

United Health Services, Inc.

Was responsible for plant operations, maintenance, construction and

environmental services for 550-bed multi-facility healthcare organization.

Directed activities of 110 employees.

* Designed all recycling, medical waste and municipal solid waste

activities.

* Created Continuous Quality Improvement work teams in area of energy

management. Annual savings achieved were over $100,000.

* Led project to deactivate hospital incinerator and move to alternate

handling of RMW. Created savings of over $150,000.
