management and hands-on design and development background for products from
concept through production in aerospace and defense and commercial arenas.
Effective in reducing program costs while significantly increasing
productivity and operational efficiencies. Particular strengths:
. Strong global client/customer relations; maintains high customer
involvement and communication.
. Go-to person for troubled project/program turn-around.
. Team leadership and development; instills confidence and engagement
in teams.
. Strategic/technical planning, scheduling and resource management.

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
Cobham Defense Electronics, Lowell MA (formerly M/A-COM, Inc) 2002 -
2010
Program/Project Manager
Managed multiple RF Microwave projects for space and satellite applications
for domestic and international customers including components for Mars
probe, classified military applications and commercial satellites. Projects
included development and legacy components including multi throw switches,
mixers, amplifiers and passive devices. Generated program plans and
schedules, coordinated multi-location team, anticipated and controlled
potential problems, monitored progress versus plan, interfaced with
customer representatives and provided program updates to upper management.
Through understanding of MIL-PRF-38534 and ESA (European Space Agency)
requirements. Handled all requests for quotations.
IBM, Lowell MA 2000 - 2002
Program Manager
Managed SiGe Power Amplifier development projects used for cell phone
applications for IBM Boston Design Center. Generated program plans and
schedules, coordinated multi-location team members, anticipated and
controlled potential problems, monitored progress versus plan, interface
with customer representatives and provided program updates to upper
management. Left this position due to a plant shutdown.
AMP Inc, Lowell MA (formerly M/A-COM, Inc) 1985 -
2000
Project Manager
Managed RF Microwave/Millimeter Wave projects for M/A-COM Aerospace and
Defense Business Unit.
Directed initial project proposals/RFP responses, generated program plans
and schedules, coordinated multi-location team members, anticipated and
controlled potential problems, monitored progress versus plan, interface
with customer representatives and provided program.
. Established/coordinated off shore manufacturing in Ireland.
Managed design effort for systems upgrade (commercial - cable TV
antenna and amplifier design and ongoing upgrade).
. Program management responsibility for an antenna set used on an
airborne electronic countermeasure application. Successfully led
the team effort resulting in a significant production increase from
forty sets to five hundred sets per month while reducing
production cost by approximately 25%.
. Assigned to lead turnaround of delinquent program involving a six
antenna set used in a military aircraft application and bring it
back on schedule.. Working with the customer, AMP production and
engineering and we were successful in bringing the program back on
budget and schedule. Generated proposals for multiyear purchase of
the six antenna assemblies. Successfully negotiated 4 year pricing
agreement.
. Managed millimeter wave frequency development program from the
development stage thru production involving a subassembly function
taking 4 individual high power Ku frequency inputs, doubling the
frequency, providing amplitude and phase adjustment to efficiently
combine the multiplied outputs into one high power Ka band
frequency output. Project had over ten years of successful
production.
PRIOR EXPERIENCE IN DESIGN ENGINEERING - M/A COM, Inc. 1977 -
1985
Engineering Group Leader
Directed engineering team consisting of Microwave Engineers and Engineering
Assistants. Managed and coordinated engineering projects which included
design efforts and project status. Facilitated successful team design
efforts on numerous microwave assemblies resulting in the award of
production contracts.
