countries. Standardized package installs to use one script for MSI based

installs so all logging and reporting is consistent across the enterprise.

Built approximately 120 software packages and managed the entire SCCM

Jan 99 - Feb 08: Assisted in Saving the State of Nebraska over $2 million

by devising a method to manage the software and configuration of

workstations and servers for two years until SMS 2.0 deployment was

available. Then, once on-line, enhanced SMS 2.0's functionality by

developing a system to ensure maintenance occurs nightly during a time

window. More than 6500 workstations are maintained by custom VBScripts

which control the behavior of the SMS client and extend its functionality,

allowing for customized software deliveries, inventory cycles and other

maintenance tasks. Over 98.9% of the systems successfully complete all

maintenance tasks each night. The system spans 90+ secondary sites through

a wide area network using a single primary SMS site. Any workstation can

be readied for use by the unattended installation of an operating system,

SMS client as well as most applications by using a single diskette and/or

network connection in less than two hours. (White paper available upon

request) Repackaged about 100 of over 600 custom and off-the-shelf

applications using systems such as Prizm, SMS installer, Microsoft

Installer, and AdminStudio. Currently deploying a new system service

written in VB.NET I developed along with a colleague to control the

Microsoft SMS Advanced Client. This new system service expands upon the

script used to control the Legacy Client by automatically configuring

mobile assets to receive updates and send inventories, setting a

maintenance window for fixed assets, managing advertisements with reboots,

and more.
