education.

Developed the company's local business directory of 72,000 cities and towns

in the US and Canada, with information on over 12 million businesses,

schools, hospitals, and government and local organizations.

Incorporated a new video-on-demand feature with geographically targeted

dynamic advertising allowing local merchants to display commercial ads

within their geographical area.

ADT Security Services Inc. 1987 - 2004

Replaced a payroll company interface with a new self-correcting

online/batch system reporting to the company's general ledger, which

simplified the task of validating the bi-monthly payroll. This resulted in

a cost saving reduction in the company's payroll staff.

Developed a billing application to invoice security services on telephone

company statements and accept remittances collected by the telephone

company, thereby significantly reducing the cost of collecting receivables.

Created a contract termination charges management subsystem to

automatically write-off selected termination charges, post the results to

the general ledger, and reduce taxable income. This subsystem saves the

company seven million dollars annually.

Designed and implemented an acquisitions subsystem to incorporate a

purchased company's customer information into order entry and customer

databases. Designed as a general purpose API, the subsystem has been used

in the acquisition of several different companies.

Developed a mortgaged obligations system producing payable date bond

blotters for institutional bondholders recorded on the dividend and

interest register and modified a loan processing system to incorporate auto-

Designed and implemented a contract management system for classified and

commercial ads which maintains a database of advertising contracts and

automatically generates the ad print copy for the paper's printing

subsystems.

Developed an automated contract renewal subsystem interfacing with the

contract management system described above. Together, these two

applications replaced a labor intensive manual contract process for

classified and commercial ads.

Developed an actuarial rate table subsystem to calculate individual

insurance premiums based on published population morbidity statistics. This

system replaced manual underwriting procedures which resulted in

significant time and cost savings.

Designed and implemented a medical benefits system involving human

resources, payroll, and accounting systems to manage a portfolio of stock

maintained by the company and funded by employee payroll deductions.

Installed the McCormack and Dodge General Ledger and Accounts/Receivable

software, both batch and online. The A/R was a new installation, while the

G/L upgraded several releases.

sales based on a cumulative database of national sales statistics. This

system replaced the manual procedures used by the company's sales trending

selections or Avon designed package promotions.

Coded and implemented a cash flow reporting system for a portfolio of

stocks and bonds managed by the group pensions department. This system

replaced time consuming manual procedures.

processing and added new functionality.
