I served two years overseas, where my duties included a tour on the
U.S.C.G. WHEC Winnebago assigned a striker rate M.S.T. (marine science
tech) and as a part of a 3-man boat crew for small boats, involved in
various rescue operations.
Next assignment was to U.S.C.G. Station Sand Island, Public Works
Division, duties included overseer of
Transient personal, operation of various heavy equipment and assigned to
the base firefighter crew.
I was rotated back to the mainland where I finished my tour of duty
assigned to U.S.C.G. Lifeboat Station Garibaldi, Oregon S.A.R. (search and
rescue) operations.
