maneuvering aircraft and having air-to-air missile
strikes against enemy aircraft. Using radarscopes
and Remote Input Processors (computers), I could
maneuver simulated aircraft on the radarscope to
create real world flying techniques.
Used plotting boards to document weather changes
and used graphs to show altitude and speed for the
simulated aircraft.
After the officers were qualified in their
position, I would be responsible to test them by
creating a simulated, war-like scenario by having
air-to-air missile strikes against enemy aircraft.
They would maneuver or "vector" their simulated
planes in a timely manner to avoid being threatened
or shot down.
During my tour I was tasked to perform Law
