Space Exploration Technologies April 2010 – September 2010

Corporate Master Scheduler in charge of leading and developing the first integrated master

schedule for the company. Intent of project was to develop multiple schedule processes and

periodically report standardized products to senior leadership and the NASA customer. Initial

products would include critical path schedule for Rocket and Space Capsule

development/production, as well as all financial milestones. This position required

understanding and documenting roughly fifty subsystems and engineering units in order to

accurately report the development, production and testing cycles.

Tecolote Research, Inc., Manhattan Beach, CA 2005–March 2010

Lead a small team of schedulers to provide integration management, schedule analysis and

project management support to the Los Angeles Air Force Base GPS Wing. Responsibilities

included providing technical and managerial leadership of process, products and people to

develop, manage and analyze all GPS program planning and schedules. Additional

responsibilities include managing time and resources, leading and training individuals to provide

standardized processes and products in support of Air Force program managers for Space,

Ground, and User Systems and Integration efforts. Products provided are used at the highest

level of the GPS Wing in support of manageable programs.

Boeing Corporation, Integrated Satellite Factory, El Segundo, CA 2002–2005

Directed a world-class, streamlined factory flow for satellite payload integration and test

activities. Led groups to use Lean methodology through Accelerated Improvement Workshops.

In addition, analyzed operational costs, cycle time trends, and quality data. Generated visual

support metrics to report status within the organization to corrective action boards, and senior

management. Led work cell activities and directed program test teams while maintaining

schedule accountability.

As project deputy manager, supported a 6σ Black Belt/senior manager on a one-year project to

streamline the entire satellite manufacturing and test facility. Routinely used Lean Methodology

Tools including value stream mapping, implementation of work cells, and performed Critical

Chain analysis. Additional tasks included managing a small $1M Air Force and Boeing–funded

monthly earned value report to include cost, schedule, and quality performance to senior

managers at Boeing and the Air Force. Organized and led an implementation strategy.

Boeing Corporation, Mission Operations, El Segundo, CA 1994–2001

As project leader, developed cost models, defined a training strategy across multiple mission

disciplines, generated staffing forecasts and strategies, and developed process documentation

adhering to ISO 9001.

As mission team leader, managed technical and business-related duties. Provided periodic status

reports for in-orbit satellite testing to the Boeing Program Office and the customer. In addition,

provided spacecraft commanding leadership during highly volatile geosynchronous transfer orbit

operations. Wrote satellite transfer orbit procedures and training modules.

Senior Communications Engineer. Responsible for design, integration, testing, and operation of

international voice/data network systems for the Boeing Mission Control Center Facility.

Designed LAN/WAN, multiplexer networks, voice, PBX, video, and Telemetry and Command

networks. Requirements included research, testing, and procurement of fail-safe mission

systems. During Mission Control Center facility move, managed and tracked internal customer

requirements, contract labor, budgets, and schedules. This role also required extensive

international field experience and travel to implement Mission Control Center hardware

interfaces with remote ground facilities, including launch, TT&C, and customer sites. Led the

communications & facilities teams in applying ISO 9001 guidelines and rules.

Boeing Corporation, Integrated Satellite Factory, El Segundo, CA 1991–1993

Development Engineer. Responsible for designing satellite test hardware systems,

troubleshooting, cabling, repair, and maintenance of satellite test hardware/software systems.

Los Angeles County Fire Department, Los Angeles, CA 1986–Present

Ocean Lifeguard. Certified annually to handle extreme rough water rescue and life threatening

emergencies. Provide supervision and direction of new lifeguards and ensure beach safety.

Coordinate and participate in Junior Lifeguard and special county beach events.
