unix computer, a Dec Alpha 4100 running True64 Unix.

Wrote Unix shell scripts using VI as my editor to help mange Bioinformatics

data.

Also maintained a software product on this machine called 'SeqLab'

Perl (~1998)

Began using Perl as a Unix shell script replacement because of its richer

syntax for manipulating textual data.

Began to use Perl to parse data into Oracle database tables

Oracle Databases(~1997)

Helped to install and maintain the companies first Oracle Databases.

Took many Oracle training classes to help in this effort. Learn SQL/PLSQL

SQL/PLSQL(~2000)

Use SQL/PLSQL, Perl, DBI/DBD, CGI and HTML to create companies first data

driven web pages and forms.

It was after this time that I began to use various other front end

Wrote a in-house application called Sequence Analysis Work Shop (SAWS) to

help manage biological sequence data.

Wrote first iteration of a in-house application called BioMatts to help

manage biological material data.

Product written by company called IDBS. It's purpose is the help scientist

store experimental data.

It was my job to maintain the backend database and to write helper Oracle

procedures to integrate the software with our existing data warehouse.

Played key role in developing a in house application called LSP (Life

Sciences Project) . A Ruby on Rails application using ExtJS web

components.
