PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
Eisai Inc. 2007 to Present
Senior Director, Information Technology
Recruited by the company to provide the overall direction for the
information technology functions at Eisai Global Clinical (EGC). For this
global organization, I manage a team of 75 permanent and contract staff
responsible for the project management, document management, infrastructure
technology and help desk services functions. Oversee a $15M operational
budget and a $4M capital expense budget as part of a total IT budget of
approximately $72M. I created the globally technology outsourcing and
architecture strategy programs for the shared services organization.
Global Outsourcing Strategy accomplishments include:
. Provide strategic guidance to the CIO on how to effectively source
maintenance and support activities with minimal impact to the
organization. This strategy enables Eisai to realize more than $2
million in annualized savings while maintaining high levels of quality
in both support and development activities.
. Developed Eisai's on-shore Help Desk outsourcing strategy, moving the
support services from an internal resource staff to an external
provider of Help Desk services. This strategy enabled Eisai to
realize more than $300K in annualized savings while maintaining
quality of service and support for the US sites.
Technology Architecture and Development accomplishments include:
. Led and managed the consolidation and virtualization of the
infrastructure technology enterprise architecture resulting in the
virtualization of over 70% of physical servers to virtual server
technology. The expected benefit is a three year cost savings of
approximately $2.1M, with an expected positive return within 9 months
of implementation at a 125% ROI.
. Developed and manage a capacity on demand "private cloud" architecture
infrastructure environment to enable faster provisioning of an
architecture platform for the business. This effort allows Eisai to
more rapidly and efficiently integrate companies obtained through
mergers and acquisitions. As a result of this effort, we assisted the
organization in effectively reducing their overall operating expenses
by over $11M while integrating an acquired $4B company investment,
helping to reduce our expenses while increasing corporate profits.
