Experience
Dec 2008 - Aug 2009 (Contract) L1
Identity Solutions, Biometrics Division
Nov 2009 - Aug 2010 (Contract)
Martinez, CA
Senior Software Engineer - Device Applications Team
L1 Identity Solutions provides hardware and software for Identity
collection and matching using biometrics and biographics. The development
platform was Visual Studio 2008 environment, supported with the Guidance
Automation Extensions and toolkit, the Smart Client Software Factory, WPF
Tool and Xceed Components.
. Completed Communications Server for Demo release within a very dynamic
requirements environment. Interfaced QA personnel to insure
specification compliance.
. Completed GUI and logic for Identification Product after assigned
engineer left the company. Product delivered on time to Customer.
. Designed/Modified GUI elements and controls in WPF creating a more
intuitive experience for the user.
. Designed a file generation tool for unit and stress testing. This cut
down the test time by days and directly exposed problems that had not
been revealed in past testing.
July 2008 - Nov 2008 (Contract)
ATS Systems Oregon Inc., Corvallis, OR
Aug 2009 (Contract)
ATS Systems / Corning, Osaka, Japan
Software Engineer
ATS Systems Oregon manufactures automated production test tools. The tool I
worked with is used to verify the edge linearity and squareness of a large
sheet of glass used on LCD/LED Televisions. The development platform was
Visual Studio 2003 using C++, C# and several third party SDK for vision and
motion control.
. Isolated and solved a long running problem with a third party motion
controller which had several critical inspection systems at Customer's
sites down for months. I provided a cost effective short term solution
while the manufacture fixed their firmware problem.
. Delivered at Customer site in Japan, new features and interfaces for
new tool design. This code included changes to the Vision and Motion
Systems, product handling and the UI.
. Gained on site Customer acceptance. During the acceptance cycle, I
found and repaired several deflects in the existing code, cutting down
the inspection operation tool by 60% with more reliability.
Sep 2007 - Mar 2008 (Contract)
Cimetrix Inc., Salt Lake City, UT
Senior Software Engineer - Technical Lead
Cimetrix is a leader in Factory Automation and Equipment Control providing
software solutions to the Semiconductor industry. I was the Lead member to
design a software solution written in C++ and C# within the Visual Studio
2005 environment. This application provided front end robotic product flow,
GUI services, Factory HOST (SEMI) and Process Module integration Metrology
tool into a factory environment ready production tool.
. Redesigned the IEEE-830 compliant template to better reflect the
companies design life cycle
. Created with the Customer both at the Cimetrix site and the Customer's
site in Denmark, the Software Requirements Specification (SRS IEEE-
830)
. Created the work breakdown structure (MS Excel), Project Plan (MS
Project), Joint Action List and the Acceptance Test Plan (ATP)
. With another Cimetrix Software Engineer I supervised, and using
Enterprise Architect (Version 7.0), we designed UML sequence drawings
and design documents based on the requirements.
