Global Exchange services (GXS) Brentwood, Tennessee 1985-2009

GXS is a leading worldwide provider of business-to-business EDI solutions.

In June 2002, GXS was acquired by Francisco Partners from General Electric

Company (GE).

Project Manager / Migration Specialist (2006-2009)

Coordinate client and software engineering to schedule system migration

from proprietary mainframe services (IBM and Honeywell) to open systems

(UNIX and Linux). Updated schedules, performed migration activities, follow

up with client to verify changes and set up monitoring period.

. Consistently led the team in scheduled and completed migrations,

organization and execution.

. Project Manager for off shore support team in India with resolutions and

enhancements to Desktop EDI application and EDI standards development.

. Set up and migrate of existing dial up communications customers to VPN

day to day issues with the client's software allowing them to make their

Application Developer (1986-1995)

Created applications to support EDI data processing, new components written

in C to replace proprietary menu software. Maintain servers for office and

teams source code management.

. Designer and developer for a DOS based EDI application.

. Provided support for previous versions of software which reduced client

issue turnaround time with client support.

. Served as Office Novell Network Administrator which allowed network

connectivity for shared resources in the office while also reducing

peripheral equipment cost and allowing sharing of information within the

office. It also allowed the use of software source code control for the

first time in the office improving software quality by reducing errors.

. Eliminated support calls by designing a standalone application for third

party software communications.

. Reduced EDI standards development delivery time from six months to three

weeks through development on distributed document support application.

This allowed EDI compliance, installation and data entry screens to be

generated.

. Served as facilities hardware support to repair failed equipment, which

resulted in eliminating all service calls for this location saving 70K

the first year.
