• Cal State Channel Islands, Bachelors in English Literature: 2005.
• Oxnard College, Associate Degree in English Literature: 2003.
• Diploma: Hueneme High School, Oxnard, C.A, June 2000.
Professional Experience
Harborfreight Tools: February 2007-August 2010.
• Position: Proofreader
• Production Manager: Lynette Archbold 805-***-****
I worked for the production department of a tool company; we published catalogs and
retail pages to advertise and sell tools and accessories. My main job objective was to
manage the content of the company’s products. We used the software program “STEP” to
proofread labels and pages before publishing its contents. STEP served as our main
database where we stored images, content and product information. I helped coordinate
all workflow throughout the department including time sensitive catalogs due for print
and earlier versions of materials due for weekly meetings. I helped proof all published
content and researched the accuracy of those products though our different databases and
or resources. Part of my responsibility was to format and print Excel spreadsheets that
contained pricing information and products that need an additional fee to ship because of
size or weight. We also did some filing and distributing tasks to other employees.
Ventura County Star: November 2006-March 2007.
• Position: Stringer
• Editor: John Catalini 805-***-****
As a Stringer, I received phone calls from local high school and college coaches; they
would then give me results and statistics of everything that happened in their respective
sporting event. I wrote a quick summary of all the information that I gathered and placed
it in the newspaper. There were different sections in the newspaper and many sports
varying from track and field to fishing results. In one section, I placed just the statistical
information of all the events. In the other section, I wrote quick summaries or highlights
of the most interesting occurrences.
Big 5 Sporting Goods: October 2002-February 2006.
• Position: Customer Service Associate
• Manager: Dan Gallegos 805-***-****
Tasks included introducing promotional offers for customers on Mondays. Fridays and
Saturday mornings were spent setting up and organizing weekly shoe promotions. On
Wednesdays, I spent the day unloading and pricing merchandise. I assembled and stocked
products when needed. I also served as a customer service associate and a cashier.
Oxnard College: August 2002-May 2005.
• Position: Tutor
• Learning Services Coordination: Jose Cornelio 805-***-****
I received a certification to tutor by the College and Reading Association. I was trained in
facilitating materials to students and in conducting workshops for note taking skills and
presentations. I helped students with English grammar and developing strategic
techniques to writing assignments, including research papers. I worked mainly with lower
level college courses and ESL students.

I implemented data in Excel spreadsheets. I categorized and organized content and
