“Sarah Palin Quitting Shows She's No Ronald Reagan” by Robert Schlesigner

shows-shes-no-ronald-reagan.html
1. What claims are being made?
Claims are being made the Palin is a quitter, and that she has destroyed her credibility
by resigning from the election. Claims are also stating that the speech that she
presented was not a memorable one, and that if it was done by Ronald Reagan it would
have been remembered. Palin was referred to as a show horse, instead of workhorse
for not sticking to her election. In Schlesinger’s words, a show horse is someone who
just likes the attention of being in front of a camera.
2. Do the claims conflict with your personal observations?
I would have to agree with their observations. I felt that Sarah worked very
hard for the election to give up. It does lower her credibility as well. If she
wants to run for an election in the future, I think the people will not vote for
her because she gave up. We as people want someone dedicated, loyal,
and willing to put our country first at all times. Sarah proved to me that she
could not handle it.
3. What background information do you have about the claims?
I have viewed various blogs, and new sources and all the information
given is the same. I have also taken the time to view the comments of
other users, and have found that a lot of people feel the same way as me.
4. What is the expertise of the author, if any?
Mr. Schlesigner, is a managing editor, and has appeared in many
publications. This is the type of work he does for a living, I’m not sure if
he’s an expert on what he wrote in this article, just a matter of fact and
opinion.
5. Is the author biased and untrustworthy, or unbiased and trustworthy?
Unbiased and trustworthy, the reporter is fair and has done a nice job of clearly
presenting the story.
