PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
LoJack Corporation, Engineering Department
Senior DSP Engineer
(February 2008 - present)
. Firmware lead to develop Home Monitoring Unit (HMU) for Person-At-Risk
(PAR) project. The core processor was ARM and also used commercial RTOS,
IAR PowerPac.
o Worked with management team, hardware and RF groups to generate
engineering specifications and reports for new product. Conducted
design reviews to ensure all objectives are fulfilled.
o Scope of responsibility also included architectural design,
implementation of critical functional modules, system integration,
test and evaluation of hardware and firmware for microprocessor boards
of wireless electrical equipment.
o Provided technical leadership during design and debug phase to meet
deployment timelines.
. Core engineer member to develop Network Repeat Unit. This product
utilized ADSP-
Blackfin 537 and CLinux as RTOS.
o Designed and developed wireless receiver module from concept to
production release.
o Debugged, tested and troubleshoot embedded DSP algorithm firmware.
o Provided improvement and modification of the design that maximized
performance.
. Core engineer member among the multifunctional design team of Vehicle
Locating Unit (VLU) to develop low power consumption solution for large
volume production of embedded electrical devices. MSP 430 is the
microcontroller and compiler is IAR.
o Performed conceptual and detailed design and implementation of
critical RF elements, including transmitter (modulation), receiver
(demodulation) and synchronization to LoJack RF towers.
o Worked closely with customers and marketing engineers to define and
specify integrated solutions for RF wireless products.
Firmware Engineer (October
2007 - February 2008)
Participated in developing the projects of Listening Post (LP) and Tower
Simulator.
. Prototyped, programmed and debugged firmware including peripheral device
drivers, timing and program logic on MSP 430 Microcontroller.
. Developed programs to support design verification, qualification, and
board level functional testing.
