loans daily. In this capacity I was responsible for all employees in the

operation of an IBM 3090-170S and in the operation of a Novel Local Area

Network, which services in excess of 1,000 employees with five remote

sites. As in all large data centers, this was a 24-7-365 operation. I

have successfully directed and managed the Information Technology

Department of the 19th largest city in Florida while, essentially, creating

its information technology department and I successfully directed and

managed the Computer Information Systems Division of a State Water

Management District.

I am a manager who strongly believes that people are the most important

asset in an organization and consider it a critical management task to

motivate and develop them.

Asst. Superintendent. Position is a prelude to construction supervisor.

Responsible for the performance of professional and technical building

repair of new homes prior to closing and occupancy. Perform and/or oversee

the performance of general and finish carpentry, drywall, ceiling and

management of information systems planning and development, including

department directors and city administration on specific system

requirements for programs and services. Specific progress was made on

three major projects as included below:

. Performed an evaluation of a new financial system for the City.

. Reviewed the current computer hardware system in relation to the changing

requirements of the City.

Implemented a 4-phase LAN/WAN and a new financial system.

. Over a six-month period, accomplished the installation of seven LAN's,

using a Novell operating system.

. Installed a new AS400 for the new financial system.

. Commenced the conversion of the previous financial system to a new HTE

financial system.

. Responsible for completion of the operating budget inclusive of

presenting the budget in public hearings to the City Council and citizens

of the City.

. Staffed the department with capable professionals.

PROJECT COORDINATOR. Responsible for training Civil Service employees on

the IBM 9121 Operating System, which is MVS-XA-ESA. Responsible for the

BANCBOSTON MORTGAGE CORPORATION, JACKSONVILLE, FL

July 1988 to January 1994

ASSISTANT VICE-PRESIDENT/MANAGER OF COMPUTER OPERATIONS. Managed multiple

shift operations of a large data center servicing the home mortgage

industry. Accomplishments included:

. Managed a 45-employee multiple shift operation.

. Directly responsible for all hardware/software leasing.

. Upgraded the IBM mainframe 3090-120s to 3090-170s, resulting in double

capacity for less cost to operating budget.

. Upgraded disc drive capacity from 3380 technology to IBM 3390 DISC

TECHNOLOGY.

. Responsible for negotiating service contracts for maintaining a 150 KVA

UPS System, a 650 KVA (500 kw) diesel generator and for testing the

system's operating capabilities to ensure availability of emergency

power.

. Wrote Emergency Disaster (Data) Recovery Plan and tested on an annual

basis. This included physical movement of all data to a "hot site" and

bringing all systems on line. (Hurricane Preparedness)

. Managed Novell LAN which served 1,000 employees in five remote sites.
