PROJECTS AT SASKEN COMMUNICATION TECH LTD
Project: Multi-media Framework on NECEL's Emma Platform
Date July 2007 to June 2009
Project Development of an Audio Framework that can decode different
Descriptio encoded audio streams such as DTS, MPEG, Dobly Digital, WMA
n using the appropriate decoders. Also involves development and
integration of post-processing modules such as sample rate
converter, bass-manager and down-mixer. The Audio Framework is
split across three DSP processors which communicate with each
other through hardware interrupts.
Contributi Designed and implemented the audio framework that runs on one
on among the three DSP processors.
Designed and implemented the RAM Audio input module.
Integrated the MP3, BDLPCM, DVDLPCM,DTS-Core and WMA
decoders.
Awards "Special Mention" certificate awarded at the Sasken Quarterly
Business Meet June 2008 for the efforts put in for the timely
implementation of the project.
Product Audio Framework is part of two versions of a BD-ROM player
(BDP-S350 and BDP-S550) that was launched by Sony in July
2008.
Project : VC-1 on NECEL's SPXK6 platform
Date June 2006 to June 2007
Project Porting and optimization of VC-1 Simple profile and Main
Description profile on NECEL's SPXK6 platform.
Contributio Implemented the error handling module to enable the decoder
n to proceed with decoding even when the input bitstream is
erroneous.
Extensively modified the VC-1 Microsoft reference code
interface to suit customer requirements.
Coded performance intensive functions in SPXK6 assembly
language.
Awards Team of the Quarter [October - December 2006] in recognition
of the appreciation by the customer for efficient and timely
execution of the project with quality.
Product Optimized WMV decoder is integrated into NTTDoCoMo's N906i
mobile phone launched in May 2008.
Project : H.264 decoder on C64X, Texas Instruments' OMAP 2430 platform
Date Jan 2006 to May 2006
Project Porting and optimization of H.264 decoder on Texas
Description Instruments' OMAP 2430 platform.
Contributio Optimized functions using C64X C intrinsics.
n Optimized functions using C64X Linear assembly.
