Work Experience (chronological):

• 1974-1985, Assisted with maintenance of father’s commercial-industrial buildings, which he

built.

• 1974-1985, Worked in warehouse of father’s electrical construction business, organizing stock,

pulling orders, making deliveries, prefabricating electrical assemblies, etc.

• 1980-1982, Apprentice Electrician, IBEW t rade union. Worked on large commercial,

i ndustrial, and office buildings throughout LA county.

• 1982-1991, Independent Electrician, performing small electrical repairs and installations on

mostly residential and commercial buildings.

• 1990-1999, Software developer and sales (“shareware”). Designed, programmed (Visual

Basic) sold and supported 3 successful software applications (2 for t racking vehicle use & expenses, 1

for printing mailing labels).

• 1991-Present, Electrical Contractor, performing electrical repairs and installations on mostly

residential and commercial buildings.

• 1995-1998, Resident Apartment Manager, responsible for 100% of the operations of a small

apartment building, including maintenance, repair, renovation, and grounds keeping. The landlord

was mostly incapacitated for the last two years, so I was mostly on my own to run everything,

i ncluding bookkeeping, until the estate was resolved and his children took over.

• 1998-2009, Real Estate Investor, Rialto Business Park L LC. Along with 8 other partners, we

built and then operated one of the largest self-storage facilities in southern California, although I was

not a p rimary leader or decision-maker in the project. But it was a very good learning experience,

observing the entire project from the inside, including analyzing the financial reports, and

participating in decision-making meetings.

Required learning about manufacturing processes, properties of materials, methods, electronics

technology related to the project, and everything else that goes with developing a new product and

delivering it to the end-user in a cost effective manner.

• 2005-2007, Board of Directors of Planned Unit Development (a private community of 72

single-family homes) responsible for all management of the property, including landscaping, walls,

gates, private streets, etc., as well as accounting, budgeting, handling resident complaints, etc. This

was not a paid job, but it was work.

• 2005-2007, edited, proofread, assisted, etc., with the development of two books written by my
