. Directed the day to day operations of The San Ramon Chamber of
Commerce (SRCC), a 501 6 Non-profit organization whose mission is to
enhance the quality of life and economic vitality in the San Ramon
Valley by representing business and community interests. Grew the
membership base from 460 to 580 members. Budget management
responsibility. Trained staff and volunteers/ambassadors
. Developed and implemented initiatives and exceeded goals of the Board
of Directors including the support of economic development, human
resource management, marketing, strategic direction, change
management, community relations, membership services and business
advocacy and education.
. Expanded and managed the SRCC's five annual fundraising events,
monthly lunches and mixers; greatly increasing revenue and sponsorship
levels
. Developed four new fundraising events and worked with volunteers to
implement them
. Facilitated collaborative strategies to support the SRCC and served as
the primary spokesperson to foster public support. Established and
fostered collaborative relationships with local businesses, junior
colleges, school districts, educators, business and civic leaders, city
officials, legislators, social service agencies, faith-based
organizations, etc.
. Conceptualized and then modernized the Chamber's website to a Web 2.0
site with the help of our web developer. Set up FaceBook, LinkedIn and
Twitter Groups for members to communicate more effectively.
. Editor of the Chamber bi-monthly newsletter, re-branded the chamber logo,
website and all print material
. Managed the fundraising and development efforts, which raised
sponsorship money for the Chamber's events and have worked closely
with companies like Chevron, AT&T, PG&E, Sunset Development, etc. to
secure funds as well as increase their sponsorship even in these hard
economic times.
. Participated actively in local, regional, state, and national levels
on economic development and advocacy relating to business policy,
legislation, and regulation.
. Increased Chamber membership overall as well as improved the retention
ratio. Accomplishments include: Increased attendance at Chamber events
more than threefold. Increased the number and variety of events put on
by the Chamber.
. Worked with an international travel company and traveled with chamber
members overseas to China, Egypt and Greece. The revenue from the 4
trips generated over $60,000 in 18 months. Recognized as the first
Chamber in Northern California to take business/cultural trips
overseas.
