COMPTROLLER
Boulder Enterprise ($55M) was a wholly owned subsidiary of The New Yorker
Magazine ($400M), serving magazine clients with printing services to
include business forms/envelopes and promotional materials/invoices. All
the accounting activities were performed by the parent company. I joined
the company to establish all these functions within Boulder Enterprise.
Major contributions:
. Set up GL, AR, AP, Payroll and invoicing functions and hired staff for
the aforementioned positions.
. Established job costing system.
. Provided parent company with a full suite of financial statements
within 4 months.
. Automated general ledger, accounts receivable, and accounts payable as
well as outsourced payroll, reducing accounting staff by 2 FTE's
. Retired corporate internal debt to parent company 18 months ahead of
schedule.
. Installed accounting/finance systems for printing plant and
subscription fulfillment operations in Ireland to capture revenues
generated from European magazines.
