TECHNICAL EXPERIENCE

Cement Chemist: California Portland Cement Company, Colton, CA (10/2007-01/2010)

Perform various tests on different types cements and cement pre-cursers to determine if the cement

is within specs. Tests include XRD, LOI, Blaine, Sieve analysis, Flowability, Air content; False set

analysis and Free lime. Familiar with how different types cement are made, from the preparation

of the raw materials to the grinding of the clinker.

Analytical Chemist: Test America inc. Colton, CA (6/2007-10/2007)

Perform various EPA tests on drinking water. Tests included EPA methods 504.1, 548.1, and 525.2.

These methods concentrated on extracting and analyzing using GC and GC-MS to determine if

there were any pesticides or herbicides in drinking water.

Development Scientist: JH research USA LLC, Fontana, CA (2003-12/2006).

Oversee all mechanical testing of fiber cement products. Methodologies include modulus of rupture and

elasticity, stress and strain, freeze/thaw testing, IR, dilution, titration, particle size analysis, and tensile

strength testing. Familiar with various types of pumps, flow meters, reactors and separation equipment.

1 Equipment operated includes MTS mechanical material testing device, freeze/thaw chamber, zero span

tensile machine and Kajaani fiber-length analysis.

2 Increased mechanical and chemical properties of fiber cement by working with team to develop and

implement admixtures and fibers used in cement process.

different salt solutions on freeze/thaw properties of fiber cement.
