Financial industries
Excellent Object Oriented Design and Development skills, honed over 8
years of experience.
Exhibited initiative, leadership and skill in leading focused design
discussions and coordinating timely delivery.
Key contributor for customer relationships, aided by my good
communication skills, as well as my self-driven, responsible and

Experience
Jul 2010 - Present Senior Software
Developer, Ascent Media, Los Angeles, CA
Design and development of modules in C# and Microsoft Dynamics AX.
Architecting solutions for Ascent's business systems based on
functional requirements and planning interface with other modules
and systems
Jan 2006 - Jul 2010 Senior
Software Engineer, Ixia, Los Angeles, CA
Object oriented design and development (using C#) of modules in our
product, which primarily provides a solution for testing network
devices such as routers. Involves extensive use of concepts such as
Threading, WinForms, Garbage collection, XML, Generics.
Took initiative for redesigning and refactoring a large part of our
code that was in a critical code path, but was rather
unmaintainable and hence was adversely affecting response time to
customer issues in that area.
Proud to be part of a core team of 10 members tasked with designing
from scratch, and implementing the company's largest and most
successful release ever - a task involvng large amounts of new
design. Was an excellent experience in working on a major
multi-year product, right from requirements analysis, design, till
release.
Contributed above the call of duty to help with project planning,
staffing and monitoring, while also leading technical design and
planning of a major module in above project.
Excelled at opportunities to coordinate efforts between teams -
other development teams and also across different functions such as
Product Management, Quality Assurance, putting to full use my API
level design skills, communication skills as well as my
prioritization, organization and planning skills
Jan 2003 - Jan 2006 Software Engineer, MSTD Inc (now Land
America), Baltimore, MD
Primarily involved in development of our web application, as well
as standalone apps at the back end, in VB, WebClasses, VC++, C++,
C#, C, JavaScript
Suggested. analysed and designed a system that gathers information
multiple sources from IIS logs, perfmon logs and the database,
about usage of organization's infrastructure. This information was
processed to study correlation between system load and various
usage parameters - helping to come up the best times to schedule
different kinds of jobs.
Within a short period of joining the company, I was promoted to
being the primary contact for our largest customer - a task that
involved regular syncups on infrastructural issues, as well as
being responsible to triaging and delegating, or personally
resolving bugs and issues reported.
Executed on time, and exceeded customer expectations, when I was in
charge of a module that involved coordinating and leading the
development efforts of 3 developers in our offshore team.
May 2002-Aug 2002 Software Engineering
Intern,MSTD Inc, Baltimore MD.
Designed and Implemented (using C) modules for processing large
flat files quickly replacing existing modules, which were
relatively much slower.
Developed code in VC++, WinSock for data transfer module from our
clients to our server.
June 2001-Aug 2001 Intern, Rapid Prototyping
Department,Siemens Inc, Munich, Germany.
Team Member for the FAIN (Future Active IP Networks) project
Developed the design for a Web Services Distribution Model in
keeping with the paradigm of Active Networks
Developed module for packet filtering on Linux - the module
terminates a TCP connection and replaces it with a UDP connection
as dictated by the Active Networks model.
Sept 1999-Jun 2000 Assistant Software Engineer, Tata
Consultancy Service, India.
Team Member, Departmental Store Data Warehousing Project - Involved
Database administration and extraction of data indicating user
transaction patterns at various departmental stores to maximize
returns on advertisement. Worked on UNIX, ORACLE.
Team Member, Venture Reporting Group - Involved creation of reports
using Business Objects and PL/SQL
Team Member, SAS group - Involved developing SAS modules for our
clients

MASTER'S THESIS TOPIC
Bootstrapping in Sensor Networks and Optimal Placement of Gateways
in such Networks : Presented a justification for optimality
requirements in Sensor Networks Bootstrapping and designed a
Protocol which performs this task. Also devises motion patterns for
the high powered entities, the gateways and aims at high node
discovery ratios. This protocol was simulated using Visual C++.
