Board of Pharmacy. Type prescription information to produce labels. Labels products
appropriately, including cautionary or auxiliary labels. Takes inventory, places orders,
checks in drugs and supplies, stocks shelves, and removes out-of-date items from the
inventory. Input patient data and medication orders into a computer system. Prepares
medications including emulsions, liquid, powders and ointments. Packages medications
for dispensing and for delivery. Sanitize I.V. room, equipment and hood.
Communicates with all customers in a pleasant and professional manner, Processes
returned medications from the facility for credit or destruction.

Position: Pharmacy Technician/I.V Technician
Duties: Under a pharmacist’s supervision, fill IV/Infusion prescription orders.
Using aseptic technique, prepare infusion therapies.
Prepare, package and affix proper auxiliary labels on a timely basis specifying name of
drug, strength, route of administration, quantity, medication pass time. Reorders or
notifies purchasing staff or appropriate personnel of medication and/or supply needs
through proper use of reorder log. Monitors back-order requests. Prepare simple drug
compounds after the pharmacist has verified the calculations, such as TPN, antibiotics,
CAD, etc. Clean all infusion pumps and equipment returned to the pharmacy. May
perform necessary functioning tests and tracking of equipment. Monitor utilization of
back-up pumps. Perform expiration-dating review of all medications on a scheduled basis
or at each re-stocking period and provide the pharmacist with a list of expired
medications. Responsible for proper disposal of IV and related items returned from
facilities. Maintains related documentation. Maintain all related compounding records,
prescription logs, and any other related files as determined by the pharmacy management.
Maintain, track, and bill for back-up emergency kits. Other duties as assigned; Job duties
