National Plant Quarantine Service, Department of Agriculture, Sri Lanka.

• 4 months research project

• The project was a survey of strawberry viruses in the country.

• Used the enzyme-linked immune-sorbent assay technique (ELISA)

• Was able to detect and identify tomato ringspot virus in strawberry cultivations for

the first time in Sri Lanka.

• As a result of the detection of this virus I was directed to work on its nematode

vectors
