As a Procurement Specialist, I have the knowledge to receive a purchase request; issue
the request for quotes/proposals; evaluate the quotes for the best price and delivery
plus any other evaluation criteria required by the end customer; some customers
require no excess; looking for broken reels for passive parts and other medical
customers require no broker buys. Some customers have qualifying criteria for
suppliers/brokers that must be maintained. From the quotes PO’s or blanket PO’s are
issued, modified and closed out. PO’s should be issued per the quote and packing slips
are issued per the PO then the invoice mirrors the packing slip keeping the accounting
issues to a minimum. Good communication skills are a must keeping everyone in the
know especially on difficult days and on more pleasant days as well.
I have worked as a Buyer for 13 years. In that time I have bought by customer, by
commodity using MRP, DRP, fax machines, spread sheets, access programs, Oracle-
eCompras and from a part number written on a sticky note. I was raised on a farm and
I am not afraid of working long hard hours. I believe in truth and try to see the good in

I have worked with Rosemary Palmer for over 20 years. In the
twenty years we worked together she was always the first to work and the
last to leave. She takes pride in her work and always wants to learn
more and become the champion in here area. If anyone ever had any
purchasing questions they never hesitated to ask Rosemary. Her warm
hearted personality naturally draws people to her.
I did not directly supervise Rosemary but anything I needed a "user
perspective" on she was readily available and always willing to lend a
helping hand. Rosemary was able to give me as an IT manager the real
world scenario on how we could, from an IT perspective, streamline
process to make them cost effective. Much thought goes into the things
Rosemary does, and she has an unusual ability to notice what others
