Business Intelligence Master's Program
. Implemented a Labor Analysis Business Intelligence solution for a
fictitious national construction company.
. Existing data from diverse data sources were consolidated into a
uniform SQL Server 2005 database. ETL capabilities of SQL Server
Integration Services were used to define imports of the data, build
scheduling packages, to define integration flow, log data error
exceptions and orphaned data and to define Database Maintenance Plans
and send emails.
. Created a number of cubes, dimensions and business critical KPIs using
SQL Server Analysis Services representing aggregations in several
different ways - hierarchically and using custom groupings that the
company will use to analyze performance. Created several MDX queries
according to business requirements.
. Developed several detail and summary reports including line and pie
charts, trend analysis reports and sub-reports according to business
requirements using SQL Server Reporting Services.
. Implemented business intelligence dashboards using MOSS 2007 Report
Center and Excel Services producing different summary results based on
user view and role membership.
. Created score cards with executive summary dashboards using MS Office
Performance Point Server 2007 Dashboard Designer that display
performance monitoring measures for sales, sales trends, and book
return rates for a fictitious book publisher deriving data from a SQL
Server 2005 OLAP data source and deployed them to SharePoint sites .
The dashboards also contain drill-down capabilities to view book sales
by book category and customer, through summary reports and sales trend
charts.
. Created score cards with advanced set of dashboards using MS Office
Performance Point Server 2007 Dashboard Designer that feature
executive summary measures for revenue, overhead costs, material
purchases, labor and profitability trends for a fictitious
construction company extracting data from a SQL Server 2005 OLAP data
source and deployed them to SharePoint sites. The dashboards also
contain pages to view performance by employee, by region, and by
quarter enabling end-users to make filter selections.
. Key product areas utilized also include data modeling, SSRS report
subscriptions and data driven subscriptions, SSAS analysis services
processing tasks, cube processing options and roles.

. Developed, tested, and deployed Discoverer 4i and 10g reports using
Discoverer Desktop. Responsible for fulfilling requests from users in
Order Management, Inventory Control and Finance.
. Created, modified, and enhanced numerous Discoverer reports within the
targeted timeframe.
. Developed, tested, and deployed Concurrent Program in PL/SQL package
to replace a Materialize View running for hours every morning.

reports upon request or respond to emails or calls periodically with
Discoverer Plus issues.
. Educated users to be 'Super Users' or developers via Webex followed by
procedural document from logging on to exporting reports.
Consultant Sr. Programmer/Analyst (1996-2005)
. Maintained Financial Management Interface (FMI) system designed for
IBM Mainframe, using DB2, QMF, COBOL and Cobol II. System interfaced
daily against an Inventory, Parts and Billing systems.
. Maintained numerous monthly Summary Reports used for balancing against
systems that fed FMI.
. Ensured monthly FMI fed into Client/Server G/L system called Computron
on a HP/Unix system. Utilized REXEC, Unix Scripts and SQL for SYBASE
to transfer FMI monthly detail Journal Entries to G/L Computron
system.
. Maintained Account Payable transactions (invoices) transmitted daily
via EDI (electronic data interface). Invoices were transmitted
directly or indirectly to either the IBM OS/390 and/or HP/Unix
systems.
. Maintained a CICS and batch Freight Rating system that processed all
freight invoices before passing to A/P Computron system and separate
batch process for Airborne Express invoices. Regarding Unix system:
company received daily invoices from in-house Purchase Order system
(CPS). Invoices were parsed by a Perl program, then loaded with Unix
scripts to Sybase database and fed into to A/P Computron system.
. Designed, developed, tested, and implemented an EDI transmission of
invoices daily from Federal Express. Process entailed receipt of EDI
transmission from Federal Express, editing and parsing by a Perl
program and loading into a Sybase database. User had ability to review
all open invoices on Intranet and update, display and/or approve for
payment via Intranet screens. User viewed invoices flagged for
approval, extracted from nightly batch process and fed into A/P
Computron system. System utilized Perl, Unix scripts, HTML and SQL for
Sybase.
