Career Summary

Over twenty years of progressive leadership roles in academic environments,

serving the most recent sixteen years at either the Director or Dean

levels.

While serving as Dean of Engineering, Business and Public Safety at Central

Ohio Technical College (2008-2010), I had direct supervision responsibility

for 11 technical programs and over 45 faculty and staff members. A primary

function was working collaboratively with local business, industry and

Economic Development agencies.

As Dean of Career and Technical Education programs at Victor Valley College

in California (2004-2008), I oversaw all activities for 17 technical

programs with accountabilities for 49 full-time faculty and staff members,

and 175 adjunct faculty per semester. Actively partnered with city,

county, Workforce Development Board, local businesses and industries to

develop local economic and workforce development opportunities.

Yakima (Washington) Valley Community College allowed for my initial senior

leadership exposure as Director of Workforce Development (1997-2004).

Leading a staff of 8, I worked with county Economic Workforce Development

staff, and Workforce Investment Board to create local partnerships and

build successful programs for the community.

My career began within the Yakima (Washington) Valley Unified School

District (1989-1994) teaching Middle and High School classes. Yakima

Valley is a region with a very large (47%) migrant Hispanic population;

requiring faculty to understand the special needs of second language

learners.

Education

Masters in Education - Heritage College, Washington

Bachelors Degree, English - California Baptist University

Potential

As a goal-oriented professional, I understand that the objectives of the

company must be met AND that it is the customer who ultimately signs our

paycheck. My diverse leadership and community development background

serves to understand "both sides" of the company / customer equation. We

need to meet to discuss how my skills can bring both immediate and long-

term value to your organization.
