WORK EXPERIENCE
Projects:
Client: LITE, UL Lafayette, MTS, and VSD August 2008
to Present
Role: Software Developer/ Research Assistant at University of Louisiana
at Lafayette's Research Park
Software development in C++, OpenSG, OpenGL, Python, VRML, X3D for 3D
Graphics, Visualization and Virtual Reality applications.
Project Title: 3rd Generation Omnidirectional Treadmill (Current)
This project is in collaboration with the [Army Research Laboratory's
Human Research and Engineering Directorate]
[http://www.arl.army.mil/www/default.cfm?Action=31] for the integration
of the omnidirectional treadmill (ODT) into immersive environments, and
developing a distributed simulation framework for dismounted soldier
cognitive research.
My job responsibility is to implement multiple OpenGL Shader support in
the current graphics pipeline, enhancing the overall visual quality of
the project.
OpenSG is a portable scenegraph system to create realtime graphics
programs, e.g. for virtual reality applications. It is developed
following Open Source principles (LGPL) and can be used freely. It runs
on Windows, Linux, Solaris and MacOS X and is based on OpenGL.
Responsibilities:
- Developing OpenGL shaders per pixel shading, deferred shading,
Parallax mapping, Normal Mapping.
- Integrating OpenGL Shaders in the current project enhancing the look
and feel of the scenes.
- Implement OpenGL Ground Shader for the project.
- Implemented OpenGL Shader configuration file (XML
- Responsible for implementing new functionality / Business logic.
- Responsible for Bug fixing and debugging.
Environment: C++, OpenGL, OpenSG, GLSL Shading language, Linux, Make,
Render Monkey, Eclipse, VR Juggler.
Client: UL Lafayette
Role: Software Developer/ Research Assistant at University of Louisiana
at Lafayette's Research Park
Project Title: Virtual Oil Rig
Responsibilities:
- Develop standalone application in VRML.
- Develop a tool which maps simple lines drawn in Autodesk Maya to create
complex 3D Pipeline structures used in oil rigs for visualization.
- Develop Python scripts in Autodesk Maya
- Application debugging and testing.
Environment: Windows, Python, VRML (Virtual reality Modelling Language),
X3D
Client: Verizon
Role: Software Developer at Infosys Technologies Limited August
2006 - July 2008
1) Verizon Voice Portal
The Repair Services Voice Portal (RSVP) system supports Fiber Customers and
Technicians performing self-service repair functions. The speech
recognition system based on which the Repair Services Voice Portal
operates, allows Customers and Technicians to speak and request information
through phone. This automated system makes it unnecessary for agents to
handle this job, and hence reducing the cost of maintenance for the client.
Responsibilities:
- Requirement Analysis
- Detailed Design
- Design Review
- Software Development
- System planning
- Documentation
- Troubleshooting
- Onsite Co-ordination
- Production Support
- Defect Tracking and reporting
Environment: JAVA, J2EE, JSP, VXML, Web Services.
2) Verizon Online Portal
Verizon Online Portal is the Premium Portal of Verizon catering to the
Business and residential broadband Customers to manage their FIOS Accounts
with Verizon Communications.
Verizon has tie up with few portal providers like MSN, Yahoo! and AOL to
provide additional features such as email, Web space, Web Hosting, etc. to
its consumers, which can be managed thru Verizon Online Portal.
Involved in implemented Single sign on (SSO Login), creating the Sign in
Pages of Verizon.net
The project involves Understanding of existing systems, code, develop (both
new and existing functionalities), and modify programs in accordance with
the High Level Design (HLD), support of maintenance and or Sustenance
software builds releases, perform unit and linkage testing on the programs
resulting from the development resulting from the development or
modification of the programs.
Responsibilities:
- Defect Tracking and reporting
- Integration Test Plan
- Integration Testing
- Designing &
