Wrote articles and took pictures for the student newspaper. Was assigned
a beat and wrote about it. It included research, interviews and phone
calls.
June 2004-December 2004: News Editor/Copy Editor
While continuing to write articles, Was in charge of the news section of
the paper. Was in charge of assigning beats to writers, collected and
edited stories. Called various departments on campus to find more news
beats. Mid semester, Stepped up to be a copy editor for the entire
paper. Edited all sections including the final draft placed on Quark
express before being sent to publish.
January 2005-March 2006:
The paper was shut down due to budget cuts and Hurricane Katrina.
March 2006-December 2006: Writer/Copy Editor
On a volunteer basis, Edited articles through email in correspondence
with the editor in chief and published some interest articles. Left due
to graduation from University of New Orleans.
