marketing education. I have six years experience working
for Gannett News Service and other newspaper outlets, as a
writer, copy editor, editor, and designer, as well as, two
years experience with NuVasive Inc., in Employee
Communications and Asset Management.
Work Experience June 30, 2008 - October 5, 2010: Asset Management and
Communications. Facilitate the scheduling and management of
surgical instrumentation for sales force, as well as,
communicating with hospitals and surgeons to ensure
accuracy and timely delivery of orders. Prepared detailed
reporting and presentations for all levels of company
management. For the last year, I have been in an asset
management position managing the loaner inventory for half
of the United States and was also in charge of training new
hires.
June 17, 2007 - April, 2008: Firefighter, City of
Clarksville, Tennessee. Trained in first responder, CPR,
HAZMAT, and fire safety and rescue operations.
March 2004-March 22, 2007: Copy Editor and sports/feature
writer for The Leaf-Chronicle in Clarksville, TN., and The
Tennessean in Nashville, Tennessee (Both owned by Gannett
News Service with circulation of 250,000 subscribers, and
over 1 million online). Laid out daily sections and wrote
up to 15 articles per week for sports, as well as
entertainment sections. I covered the Nashville music
scene, and the Tennessee Titans and Nashville Predators.
August 2001-February 2004: Sports Editor/Public Affairs
Officer for The Fort Campbell Courier (large weekly
newspaper, circulation 60,000 worldwide) serving the
military and surrounding community in Fort Campbell,
Kentucky. Managed weekly sports sections and fostered
relationships with numerous military personnel, at home and
abroad, to help keep soldiers overseas updated on national
and local sports. Covered Tennessee Titans and Nashville
Predators while writing daily periodicals that were
delivered to the 101st Airborne while serving overseas.
Education Bachelors degree in English from Austin Peay State University
(Fall 1999-2001), Clarksville, Tennessee and
professional/technical writing minors. Undergraduate work
completed at the University of Memphis (Fall 1995-1999)
that included Interdisciplinary Studies with a
concentration in Business Marketing.
Honors diploma earned from Northeast High School in
Clarksville, Tennessee.
Skills & Awards Microsoft Office Suite - Advanced Knowledge. InDesign,
Quark, Adobe publishing software - Advanced Knowledge. SAP
software -moderate level of experience.
Excellent communications skills (both written and verbal) that have
developed in conjunction with employment background.
Nominated for NuVasive's highest employee award, the "Cheetah Award"
for creating and implementing a new process. Developed
Blackberry friendly reporting that was able to be accessed
