I offer extensive experience in Directing operations, management
leadership, OSHA compliance, defending OSHA citations, engineering safety
systems and plotting solutions, worker compensation management, insurances
procurement and operating systems (Work Comp, GL, Property, Vehicle, Inland
Marine), DOT compliance including Federal Railroad Administration, EPA
compliance, Hazardous waste permitting /operations, air pollution
permitting and environmental compliance, fleet management, safety
reward/award programs, and safety professionalism within the public and
private sectors (OSHA, DOT, EPA, MSHA, & FRA) in both the United States and
Canada. I am considered to be a combustible dust expert in the
manufacturing sector.
I possess extensive working experience in manufacturing environments. I use
safety to reduce costs and increase production which benefit the bottom
line. During the period of economic retraction, the efforts to conserve
funds is of utmost importance. My experience in working with brokers and
broker safety engineers is extensive.
My proven abilities to deliver innovative solutions that fully support
growth objectives are extensive. In 2009 I planned and directed the safety
programs (OSHA, EPA, DOT) at 52 manufacturing plants and saved $460,000 in
injury costs compared to 2008. In 2009 our Teams had 9 injury free plants
without any type of insurances claims and 16 plants that were injury free.
2010 is trending to be a better picture. My safety culture implementation
efforts were successful.
In 2008 I planned and directed the safety programs at 57 manufacturing
plants with and saved $753,000 in injury costs compared to 2007. In 2008
our Teams had five injury free plants and four plants that had zero
insurance claims. In 2007 I saved $862,000 in injury costs compared to
2006. Within four years I reduced the work comp Experience Modification
Rate from 1.09 to .85 (24 discount points or 24% in reduced premium costs)
while the Corporation grew from 400 employees to 1682 employees.
I volunteered to start the Corporate DOT program after a Federal
Investigation intended to shut down interstate commercial driving
operations. I successfully reduced the DOT Federal Safety Score by creating
and directing a DOT Program across the nation. I apply code and work with
code on a daily basis involving building, fire, mechanical, electrical,
OSHA, EPA, and DOT for 50 manufacturing plants across the nation. I create
cost effective solutions that deliver performance and forward progress. I
have worked on an international basis in Canada.
I am an accomplished team Director, adept at developing and guiding diverse
teams to deliver top performance in both the public and private sectors. I
created a Comprehensive Safety and Health Program and trained Regional
Managers/General Managers to operate the safety systems for both Sections
1910 and 1926, I administer and consult our plants that are in OSHA State
Programs, I administer and manage the work comp claim programs plus all
other insurances, and am highly skilled in behavior based management. My
