o As Senior Systems Engineer my duties include the administration,
maintenance and hardening of all Department of the Interior Office
of the Secretary (OS-DOI) and National Business Center (NBC)
servers. Duties include administration of three Active
Directory Domains in two forests, 200+ printer queues, 1200+ users,
four SMS servers multiple WSUS and Counteract security appliance.
Using a virtual environment I test and validate patches and
upgrades before they are applied to production systems or
workstations. I attend several teleconferences weekly to
communicate with the customer status of different projects
including POA&M's and other C&A progress. I and one other Senior
Systems Engineer are directly responsible for the health and
maintenance of 100+ test & production servers in multiple data
centers. I am responsible for maintaining/upgrading SQL and IIS
production servers such as eCPIC test and production servers,
Travel manager servers, SMS servers RIS, Symantec, heat, Lotus
Notes and WSUS servers. I am responsible for the maintenance and
configuration of the EMC storage. I am the technical lead in the
ongoing FDCC desktop hardening effort. I am an incident coordinator
for any issue affecting multiple users at the U.S. Department of
the Interior's headquarters in Washington, D.C. I am in constant
contact with the Helpdesk support team and network engineers to
resolve issues as they arise anywhere in the country.
